To enter, residents must send a current photo of this year’s light display to Moree Thumbs Up Thumbs Down administrator Tanya Fitch via Facebook messenger, email axl001@msn.com or phone 0408 448 840.
All entries must reside within Moree Plains Shire Council and be submitted by the owner or with the owner’s permission. One entry per address/residence and one entry photo are to be submitted.
Entries close on Friday, December 14 at 6pm.
Voting will then open on the Moree Thumbs Up Thumbs Down Facebook group from Monday, December 17 until 6pm on Monday, December 31.
The winners will be announced in the New Year.
The display with the most votes will win a $200 voucher for first prize. Second prize is a $150 voucher and the house with the third most votes will take home a $50 voucher. All prizes are sponsored by Moree Plains Shire Council.
Moree Plains Shire Council community development liaison officer Ros Laws encourages everyone with a light display to take part.
“A lot of people have had a bad trot with the drought, so this is a good way of lifting everyone’s spirits at this time of year,” she said.
