Priestly proved too good for Korean boxer John Min, who has fought against the likes of former world champion Billi Dibs, Brandon Ogilivie, Luke Boyd and James McDonald, when the pair met in Sydney on Saturday night.
Both fighters entered the ring behind their national flag to a sold out crowd at Panthers North Richmond Club in Sydney, who were on their feet from the opening bell, in a battle of the Super Featherweights.
The big punching Korean started like a house on fire, trying to unsettle the Moree fighter, but Priestley was in control and stayed focused, slipping punches and then counter punching with a nice right hand.
Priestly was credited with a knockdown in round one when the Min’s gloves touched the canvas.
“Priestly was very sharp and often beat the aggressive Korean to the punch, in what was a good and entertaining fight,” Moree Boxing and Fitness coach Chalky Rice said.
“After the eight count for the knock down, TC closed the distance, ripping two and three punch combinations to the body and head, rocking John Min repeatedly in the closing stages of the round.”

The Korean boxer was forced to fight defensively and was in survival mode.
The end came for Min after just 2 minutes and 29 seconds into round one when a barrage of punches, followed by a beautiful left hook, dropped the Korean to the canvas for the second time, forcing the referee to stop the fight and award Priestley the victory.
Rice said he was very proud of Priestly’s performance.
“The dedication, focus and discipline, shown by TC, not only with the fight, but also with the training and sacrifices made leading up to the fight led to this fantastic result,” he said.
Priestley’s manager and agent, Robert Burton was ecstatic with the victory.
He has already made arrangements for Priestly to fight again at the end of January, 2019 at Penrith Panthers Leagues Club for either the currently vacant Featherweight NSW title, or the Super Featherweight NSW title.
“It’s only onwards and upwards for the Moree Boxing and Fitness gym professional boxer,” Rice said.
Coaches Colin Rice and Mark Pitts have already started working with Priestly for his next fight.
