It’s that time of the year for the Moree Lions Kids fishing day on November 18.

The event is for kids from 6-12 years of age interested in learning how to fish.
Beginners have the chance to learn how it is done while also having fun with their mates.
They’ll learn about knot-tying skills and casting and will also get updates from DPI Fisheries. The event concludes with a sausage sizzle and giveaways for kids.
There will be 10 lucky door prizes offered.

Events kick off at 9am, November 18, at the Mary Brand Boat Ramp at the corner of Bank and Albert Street, Moree.
Diggers swimming
The Moree Diggers Swimming Club offers recreational swimming at its best at the Moree Artesian Aquatic Centre. The club caters for all abilities and races are based on a handicap system. For this reason, there are members from four to 85 years (both male and female) who have joined because they are interested in fitness and social interaction.
There is a family atmosphere at the Club and a lot of social interaction including pool-side BBQs, Pool Inflatable activities, dinner events and some twilight swims.
Singles, couples and families are all welcome, and there are categories for grandparents, adults, 13-18 year olds, 6-13 year olds and tadpoles.
Adults must be members of the Moree Services Club to join the Moree Diggers Swimming Club and children must always be accompanied by an adult.

Christmas Twilight Festival
Moree Race Club will host Christmas Twilight Races from 1pm on December 15.
First of six races starts at 2pm.
Tickets are at $20 with marquee and gate tickets on sale from 7am on Monday, November 26.
Fashions on the Field prizes will be handed out to the value of $3000 by Bella Sante. A courtesy bus to and from the track from various locations.
People from far and wide are urged to come along and join the fun.
All-Girls Colt Challenge
The best of the best are set to compete at an All-Girls Colt Starting Challenge on 17-18 November for what is believed to be the first competition of its kind in Australia.
The Challenge takes place in Goondiwindi, and has caught the attention of horsewomen across the country, with entrants travelling from as far as the Channel Country in western Queensland to compete in the girls-only event.
The two-day competition is organised by the Goondiwindi Working Horse Club and will take place alongside a packed schedule of clinics in Horsemanship, Cutting and Roping during the club’s inaugural ‘Working Horse Weekend’.
Girls from all walks of life are expected to compete in the tough challenge.
The clinics are open to anyone and limited spots are still available. Beginners and fence-sitters welcome.
The event takes place at the Goondiwindi Showgrounds from November 17-18. Limited clinic spots are still available. Participation is at $150 per person plus insurance. Call 0427 063 780 for more information.

Men’s big day out
Blokes around the region looking for an entertaining afternoon are invited along to the Talwood Men’s Day Out next week.The event, supporting men’s health, will host Shane Webcke as a guest speaker. Since retiring from a career in rugby league Webcke spends his time as a farmer, family man and businessman along with other titles.He will join Dr Rolf Gomes as a speaker. Dr Gomes is the founder of Heart of Australia – the organisation this year’s event will support.
The event is a chance for men to get off the farm or away from their businesses to share their stories.
