Northern Tablelands MP Adam Marshall was pleased that an application for almost $150,000 submitted by the Boomi Sportsground Reserve Trust was successful and the makeover is now underway.
Funding was made available through the NSW Government’s 2018-2019 Crown Reserve Improvement Fund program.
“The reserve trust members are to be congratulated for putting the work in to secure this funding which will allow some of the old structures to be removed to make way for a multi-purpose building,” Mr Marshall said.
“Boomi is a small community but there is a tremendous spirit there and the sportsground is a real hub for all kinds of activities throughout the year.
“The new building will also include an area where food preparation can be undertaken safely and within the usual safety guidelines.”

Boomi Sportsground Reserve Trust president Bart Officer welcomed the announcement and said the community was ready to get on with the job.
“The reserve trust members and community members have managed to keep the old buildings on the grounds limping along for many years now,” he said.
“So it’s with some excitement that we now have funding enough at our disposal to take the initiative and undertake a long-needed project.
“The new multi-purpose building will be a huge improvement on the old building and allow better catering to be provided for users.
“It will be a bit sad to see some of the older structures go as they have served us so well for so long. They were built to last and our new building will be made with the same eye to a long life.”
