The musical comedy, produced by 2 Minus 1 Productions, follows the tale of main character Heather who is having difficulty coming to terms with her sexuality.
Heather feels she has no one to turn to … her father Bert can’t fix her problems; he is too busy not caring about the environment. Alastair, her boyfriend wouldn’t understand as his head is always stuck in a book. Clementine the librarian is clueless as ever and Dr Fanny, well, lets just say Dr Fanny has some issues of her own, but she does offer some good advice – sing out your problems! It seems the only person who could help Heather with her dilemma is her mother Karen … but here is another problem, where in the world could Karen be?
Lemon, Lime and Scissors is an original musical written by Stevie Jean Drenkhahn, Jacqualyn Drenkhahn and William Penfold, which explores topical issues not only in a lighthearted and comical manner, but one that is invigorating and life-affirming.
The two sisters have directed past productions such as, Sticky Sweet, The Red Barn and Show-tunes and this year they will star in this epic musical tale alongside co-writer Will Penfold, who plays the problematic boyfriend, Julie Denyer who plays the not-so-helpful-psychologist Dr Fanny and Michael Warick who stars as Heather’s father, Bert. Stevie Jean Drenkhahn will play a frustrated and confused Heather, whilst sister Jacqualyn plays Clementine the clueless librarian.
The show is on at Moree Services Club for two nights only – this Friday, November 2 and Saturday, November 3. Limited tickets are still available from www.123tix.com.au or in store at Sylvia’s Fabrics in Moree. Cost is $40. Doors open at 7pm, pre-show entertainment begins from 7.30pm.
