Driver flown to John Hunter Hospital after truck accident at Terry Hie Hie

A truck driver has been flown to John Hunter Hospital this morning following a truck accident near Terry Hie Hie, south east of Moree.

Emergency services were called to a property outside of Terry Hie Hie early this morning (October 24) after a truck rolled onto a 57-year-old man.

The male driver reportedly exited the vehicle to remove a rock from his tyre, as this took place the truck rolled over his legs.

The Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service landed on at the property just before 9am to transport the man to John Hunter Hospital.

New South Wales paramedics and a doctor treated the man on scene to stabilise him prior to him being transported.

Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service said, in a serious condition, the man had serious lower limb injuries.

It was the helicopter’s second return to Terry Hie Hie in two weeks, after the service was required on the scene of a single-vehicle accident on October 13.

The vehicle reportedly collided with a tree, trapping a person inside.

After being freed, the chopper transported the patient to John Hunter Hospital for further treatment.
