Five Moree teams took on the RX division and two opted for scaled over four separate workouts spread throughout the day.
Boasting around 80 athletes, the Dynamic Duo saw competitors flock from Gunnedah, Glen Innes, Tamworth and Moree.
The four workouts, carefully chosen by Road 2 Victory Crossfit owners tested athletes skills in weightlifting, cardio and gymnastics.
GTK Crossfit owner Heidi Dell and trainer Trent Loder battled hard throughout the day to claim first place in the RX division.
Dell said the pair won three out of four workouts, placing third in the other.
“The 60 clean and jerks for time in WOD 2 was particularly good for Trent and I working together. We both would have made a new PR on that WOD if we did it solo,” she said.
Heading into the last WOD of the day Dell and Loder knew they had to rely on absolute determination to stay in front.
“We had to get at least 18 burpees to win. We had a goal to reach and we just pushed through the pain.”
Dell also congratulated Jake and Stacey for finishing a tied fourth in scaled and Tegan and Madi who placed ninth overall out of 20 teams.
“Not only did our Moree athletes compete really well but they also showed good sportsmanship which is something we are really proud of here at GTK.”
Dell hoped the Inverell comp put everyone in a good frame of mind for the GTK Teams Throwdown on November 10.
