To highlight the importance of small business, Moree Chamber of Commerce is inviting local business owners to a night of comedy.

In conjunction with Small Business Month, the night will be held on Thursday, October 25 at the Dhiiyaan Aboriginal Centre.
Chamber president Nicole Fitzgerald said the event focused on celebrating the commitment of small business to the community.
“We have Merri-May Gill as MC, along with Greg Bell and Anna Winter-Moore doing presentations.
“We also have the most magnificent stand-up comedians in town, Andrew O’Neill and Jake Newman, set to entertain the crowd,” she said.
All small businesses in Moree are encouraged to attend the evening of fun from 6pm to 8pm. The Chamber have also put together some welcome packs for new members.
Nicole said the evening was all about having fun, networking and local business owners supporting each other.
“When times are tough, the best medicine is always laughter.”
Small Business Month, run throughout October, encourages people tho host a series of events to support and inspire others to grow their business and connect with other like-minded owners.
Nicole thanked Moree Plains Shire Council’s economic development team, including Mark Connolly and Laura Colley, who applied for the funding to make the event possible.
“We received funding from the NSW Government Department of Industry to host the ‘Keeping Small Business Healthy’ evening.
“The other person who has been absolutely instrumental in this is Julia Mitchell, publicity officer for the Moree Chamber of Commerce.”
