Last year 50,670 from New South Wales schools took part in the event raising over $1,345,609.25.
P and F committee member Bernadette Seery said students have enjoyed setting their fundraising goals.
“Our students have been involving family and friends in their fundraising efforts, while they gear up for our fun run,” she said.
School fun runs connect local schools with the wider community to raise vital funds for schools while promoting student health and financial education.
Last year over $4.3 million dollars was raised by schools, with $72, 842 raised by the highest fundraising school and $8,023 raised by the highest fundraising student
Now in it’s 31st year of supporting schools, the school fun-run has proudly assisted them to raise more than $100 million in that time.
This year over 280,000 students will participate in the fun run, collectively they will run 560,000kms which is the equivalent of running 13 times around the world
School fun-runs help children learn about setting and achieving financial goals and establishing healthy habits that will stay with them throughout their lives.
Parents, families, neighbours and local businesses are offering their support and donations to St Philomena's School students who will be getting fit and having fun in the name of fundraising for their school.
