Moree Police Station officer-in-charge Inspector Martin Burke said vehicles had been parked at the club overnight following a charity event.
“On Sunday morning at around 6.30am police have taken reports of 12 instances of cars being broken into or damaged at the location,” he said.
Along with smashed windows, owners also found property, electrical equipment, personal valuables and tools missing from the inside of their vehicles.
Police are appealing to the public for information as to anyone involved in the incident.
“If anyone knows who may have been involved, or is offered property for a cheap rate, let us know by contacting Moree police on 6757 0799 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
“The most disappointing thing for us is that a lot of these people were there attending an event to raise money for a good cause.
“Some other individuals in the community decided to be opportunistic and take advantage of those people by breaking into their cars and damaging their property,” Inspector Burke said.
“I have a pretty dim view of people who conducted such activity.”
Police completed a thorough forensic examination of vehicles on the scene and are awaiting results.
“Hopefully we will see results,” he said.
