Moree’s RSL Sub-Branch is reaching out to community members ahead of their Remembrance Day service.

Members are asking community members who may like to lay a wreath during the November 11 service to contact Roger Butler.

The service will be held at Anzac Park in Gosport Street, and will commemorate the 100th anniversary.

If you would like to be involved in this year’s service contact Roger on 6752 1677.

Remembrance Day is a memorial day observed in Commonwealth of Nations member states since the end of the First World War to remember the members of their armed forces who have died in the line of duty.

The red remembrance poppy has become a familiar emblem of Remembrance Day due to the poem "In Flanders Fields" written by Canadian physician Lieutenant-Colonel John McCrae.

Fairview will hold a Remembrance Day service on Friday, November 9 for their residents and families.
