This free event is one of 17 to be held across regional NSW this school holidays to empower young people living in drought-stricken areas.
Fun For Kids is a first-of-its-kind state-wide initiative by PCYC NSW and involves staff splitting up into three teams to cover three distinct routes in Western NSW.
The aim is to bring exciting activities to as many communities as possible.
Fun For Kids in Moree will include a range of sports and children’s activities from 3pm, barbecue from 5pm and dance party from 6pm. Everything is free-of-charge and all are welcome.
“PCYC NSW is about getting young people active in life and with many of our clubs in regional areas doing it tough, we wanted to give back to young people and the community by delivering events where young people can be distracted from the drought and have some fun,” said Dominic Teakle, CEO, PCYC NSW.
“PCYC NSW aims to empower young people no matter what their circumstance and Fun For Kids is one example of this.
“It is a chance for young people to forget about their troubles and to celebrate the strength of their community through a range of sports and various activities including an all ages dance party.”
PCYC NSW’s Fun For Kids tour will visit Moree, Narrabri, Gunnedah, Coonabarabran, Gilgandra, Dubbo, Bourke, Walgett, Lightning Ridge, Coonamble, Nyngan, Hay, Hillston, Lake Cargelligo, Condobolin, Forbes and Cowra from 3 to 10 October 2018.

PCYC was established in 1937 by Police Commissioner William John MacKay.
It was a partnership forged with the community via Rotary to provide young people with a safe and positive alternative.
Over 80 years later that vision has grown and now operates in 64 sport and recreational locations across NSW, including in Moree, and is one of Australia’s leading youth-focused organisations.
