A 41-year-old man is facing multiple charges after a car crash near Bellata on the Newell Highway.

Oxley Highway Patrol received a complaint at 9.20am on Tuesday regarding the driving of a Mazda sedan with Queensland registration.
Shortly after, units were called to a crash five kilometres north of Bellata which involved the Mazda.
The driver underwent a roadside breath test at the scene which returned a positive reading.

The man was then taken to Narrabri Police Station where a subsequent breath test returned a reading of 0.080, almost twice the legally prescribed alcohol limit.
A police search of the man’s car uncovered what is alleged to be more than one kilogram of a prohibited drug, believed to be cannabis.
The man was charged with middle range PCA, supply of a prohibited drug and possession of a prohibited drug.
He was granted conditional bail and will appear at Narrabri Local Court on October 23.
