More than 50 organisations like Aboriginal Employment Strategy, Moree TAFE and police set up stalls at Jellicoe Park to showcase the services they provide to Moree and the surrounding community.
“Community Connect Day is a fantastic opportunity for the police to come together with other service providers and keep locals up-to-date about what is on offer in the community, ” Moree Police Station officer-in-charge Inspector Martin Burke said.

Mr Burke said that it was important services like the police engaged with the community and fostered an open platform for communication with locals.
“We have material on crime intervention that covers all aspects,” Mr Burke said.
Children’s face painting, games and free haircuts were thrown into the mix of entertainment. A drum beat and didge and dance also accompanied a barbecue.
