The Bureau of Meteorology is monitoring a system which it says “is likely to deliver a weekend of variable and potentially dangerous weather to New South Wales and the ACT”.
The strong cold front is expected to trigger elevated Fire Dangers (including severe) in parts of NSW and lead to significantly above average temperatures for this time of the year for parts of the north and east of the state.
Temperatures for Tamworth are forecast to reach a high of 30 degrees on Saturday.

Eight areas have total fire bans in place for Saturday including; Northern Slopes – Gunnedah, Gwydir, Inverell, Liverpool Plains, Tamworth and North Western – Moree Plains, Narrabri, Walgett, Warrumbungle.
