SafeWork NSW to conduct free work, health and safety sessions in Moree district

SafeWork NSW representatives will be visiting the Moree district next week to provide free safety advice to farmers, business owners, managers and workers.

On Wednesday, September 19 the team will be conducting a Safer Communities, Safer Towns session at Moree Town Hall from 10am to 3pm.

Moree business owners, managers and workers are encouraged to come along to the free safety advice event, meet the team and get some answers to their work health and safety questions.

People can drop in or register to the session to receive professional advice on mental health in the workplace, falls in the workplace, effective management of workplace injury and recovery at work, emergency management, and electrical safety.

The SafeWork NSW team will then be conducting a Farm Health and Safety Day at ‘Midkin’, 1957 Carnarvon Highway, Ashley on Thursday, September 20 from 10am to 2.30pm.

The event will include practical demonstrations and short talks on mental health, hazardous chemicals, quad bike safety, rural crime prevention, safe management of plant, and hazardous manual tasks.

The team can also answer any questions people may have, as well as provide information on services available and farmers’ resonsibilities and obligations.

Morning tea and a barbecue lunch will be provided by the CWA.

Business owners with less than 50 full-time employees who attend either session may be eligible to apply for a $500 small business rebate.
