With the annual event continuing to grow in popularity, this year's shift to a larger venue paid dividends.

Moree on a Plate president, Bethany Kelly, said the day went off without a hitch, and many expressed surprise at the fantastic grounds of B&W Rural.

"Tickets to this event sell out very quickly, so this year we made the decision to move from the BAMM garden to the B&W Rural garden to accommodate more guests," Mrs Kelly said. 

"Despite opening up more seats, the event still sold out in under five minutes, which is testament to it's continuing popularity."

And, thankfully, the move worked wonderfully.

"Most people haven't been to an event in the B&W Rural garden, so weren't sure what to expect, but it's fair to say that the feedback has been amazing,” Mrs Kelly said.

"With a backdrop of the refurbished premises and old flour mill providing an edgy, industrial feel, it was fantastic to have more space for guests to move freely, socialise, and dance - there was plenty of dancing.”

A delicious menu by Relish Catering did not disappoint, and live music by The Contingency Plan kept the dance floor full.

"This is a lunch that the committee holds annually to say 'thank you' to the community for supporting the Moree on a Plate Festival," Mrs Kelly said. 

"It's a day people can come and enjoy without having to put their hand in their pockets for fundraising or auctions or raffles - our town is so generous as it is - so this is a day purely for fun."

And from the looks of the dance floor come dusk, Mrs Kelly laughed that she's pretty sure they achieved their goal.
