Moree businesses, organisations, school groups and individuals have been showing their support for the mighty Moree Boomerangs by decorating shop fronts, fences and cars with the Rangs’ red, yellow and black colours.
Even a home in Glen Innes – the Boomerang’s A grade grand final rival – is decked out in the red, yellow and black. The Naden family, originally from Moree, have gone all out in decorating their fence and car with balloons, signs and even jerseys.
Three of the Boomerangs’ four grades have qualified for this Sunday’s grand final, to be held at their home ground, Burt Jovanovich Oval.
As the under 18s, reserve grade and A grade sides prepare for their biggest games of the season, the Moree community and Boomerangs supporters have shown they’re behind them every step of the way.
All the grand final action will kick off at 10am on Sunday, September 2 with Inverell to take on Glen Innes in the ladies league tag.
The Boomerangs under 18s will then face off against Tingha, followed by Boomerangs and Narwon in reserve grade.
Finally, the A grade fixture between the Boomerangs and Glen Innes is set to get underway at 2.30pm.
The Moree Champion would like to wish the Rangs the best of luck on Sunday as they look to make history by securing all three premierships.
Go you mighty Rangs!
If you have a photo showing how you’re supporting the Boomerangs, we’d love to add it to our supporters’ gallery. Send photos and captions to sophie.harris@fairfaxmedia.com.au.
