“The money we raise will go towards Christmas presents for children in need, Moree Secondary College projects and the Moree Drought Muster,” P and C Association president Kelly James said.
Moree Secondary College, P and C Association and the SRC have teamed up to host the mammoth fundraiser on September 23.
“Initial plans were to host a fundraiser just for the school, but then we thought it would be even better to get as many people of the community involved: we wanted to raise more money that we could send straight back into the community,” Ms James said.

She added Moree was anything but short of community spirit.
“Within an hour and a half of posting about the fundraiser on Facebook, a couple of sponsors approached us,” Ms James said.
On the day, participants will set off in provided-white coloured shirts from the Multi-Purpose Centre and endure a series of obstacles as they race through town.
“Checkpoints will be dotted along the course where volunteers will throw colour at the runners,” Ms James said.
A barbecue has been teed up for the end of the run with entertainment yet to be finalised.
The run is not only open to students of Moree Secondary College, but families, friends, members of the community and other school students.
Some Moree Secondary College students have already created their own fundraising profile, in an effort to raise money.
“There will be a prize to match the amount of money that students raise for the colour run,” Ms James said.
From fidget spinners to drones to a go pro, there will be plenty of prizes on offer.
“At the end of the fun run the students will have the option to either keep their prize or donate their prize,” Ms James said.
Sponsor packages have also been thrown into the mix to sweeten the deal, as Ms James looks to bring more sponsors on board.
Tickets for the Colour Run and sponsorship packages can be purchased at www.trybooking.com/411826.
A donation tab has been set up on the ticketing page for a direct link to any Moree Drought Muster Donations.
