The town hall was packed with old boys, current players and friends to celebrate the Moree Boars Rugby League Club reaching 100 years.
President Mark McGrady said the night was a reunion for many past players who hadn’t seen their former team mates in years.
“There was lots of happy faces around the room. We had the likes of Danny Shearer and Ivan Shearer. Ivan played sorta back when little master Clive Churchill was in Moree,” McGrady laughed.

An emotional part of the evening was when club stalwart Alf Scott was presented a lifetime achievement award, which resulted in two standing ovations from the crowd.
“Alf was very overwhelmed. It is very sad that Alf’s moving on to live with his daughter on the other side of Australia and we will miss him.”
After the emotional presentation, Alf inducted past president Todd Mitchell into the life membership honour role.
Afterwards, an auction was held with the help of special guests David Gillespie and Tony Butterfield.
As president, Mr McGrady thanked the committee and everyone involved with the organising of the centenary ball.
“A big thank you to Ash Johnston and Deb Holland, as well as Mick Watts and Ando for their involvement,” he said.
The night wrapped up with a few past and present players showing off their moves on the dance floor, which followed with a fair few laughs.
