Inverell’s Binnacle took first place in the Caretaker’s Maiden Plate with a 0.2 length lead over Armidale-trained Vondaye and a 0.5 length lead over Tamworth-trained Thunder. Binnacle was trained by Allan Foran, whose stable has produced four winners this season.
Jockey Jodi Worley rode Binnacle to his first win, with $19,600 total prizemoney. The current race record for Binnacle is now one win from eight starts with prizemoney of $23,535.
Worley has ridden 44 winners during her career so far, including 24 this season. She is the Allan Foran stable’s most successful rider in recent years.

Moree trainer Steven Sampson is still reeling from his unexpected victory with Angel’s Scent, also ridden by Worley, which won the Treasurer’s Maiden Handicap.
“I’m very excited actually because Angel's Scent did a lot better than I had expected on the day,” Sampson said.
“She jumped really well and kept in the lead five horses for most of the way,” Sampson said.
Moree’s Peter Sinclair-trained Conwoman lived up to her name, stealing the Moree Veterinary Hospital Class 1 Handicap with a one length lead over Armidale-trained Stirling Osland.
Peter Sinclair’s Happens Nomore just missed out on first place in the White Rural Class 12 and Maiden Plate after a 0.2 length difference between first-placed Daiquiri Lass from Scone.
Scone trainer Peter Bloomfield also enjoyed success with a win from four-year-old Barricade in the Nufarm Gwydir Handicap. Parkes’ gelding Got Nothing clearly had something to give in the Class 3 handicap, winning the race with a strong 2.8 length margin.
The top spot in the 1400 metre Moree Ag Supplies and Steel Benchmark went to Campbell Robert’s Mysticism.
