The victory was Track Flash’s fourth picnic cup triumph this season, following three consecutive cup wins at Quambone, where he dead-heated with Rehanaat, Moree and Mallawa. Ricky Blewitt has ridden him on all those occasions.
At the 85th staging of the Wean Amateur Picnic Races, Track Flash beat Rena’s Lad by a head and California Raider by two-and-a-half lengths, said the winning horse’s trainer, Moree-based Peter Sinclair.

Sinclair believes that Track Flash now heads the qualification standings for September’s $50,000 final of the NSW Picnic Champion Series in Dubbo, having gone into the Wean meeting third on the standings.
He said the heaviest weight Track Flash had previously carried was 67kg, which occurred in his previous start when he ran third in the Talmoi Cup.
Sinclair said he was “just really, really happy with the courage he showed to win the race with that weight”.
He added: “I was really happy with Track Flash … the track was very firm and he had 69kg.
“Like, he got beaten with 67[kg] his previous start. So he went up 2kg, which really bothered me … [But] he’s a really honest horse, and Ricky Blewitt rode him really, really good.”
