Now in its 18th year, NAIDOC Golf celebrates the sporting passion in Moree.
“Just about everybody in Moree plays golf, so this is a good excuse to play a round for NAIDOC Week,” organiser Selwyn Benge said.
A hot cooked breakfast warmed the 60 or so golfers amid 10 degree temperatures.

Benge noted the turnout was slightly lower than previous years.
“Usually there’s about 70 or 80 people who come down for the day. I think the cold weather is why less people have shown to the game.”
The golfers went through the two man ambrose, 18-hole round to compete for the Bruce Munro Memorial Shield and Keith Munro Trophy.
Benge explained that both trophies had been named after avid golfers in the community.
“NAIDOC Week is when we respect people from the past and present. It’s a great way to get everyone together,” Benge said.
