A-grade moved within one point of second position on the Group 19 premiership table, with a gutsy 32-20 win over the second placed Boars in front of a very well attended and vocal Old Boys crowd.
It wouldn’t be a good, old-fashioned footy game without a few players being sent the the sin bin.
The fight was evident in both teams who wanted to secure points crucial to the ladder board. At one point Inverell, despite being two men down, prevented Moree from adding any further points to the score.
Inverell’s Justin Caine was awarded Man of the Match, judged by a number of Old Boys who enjoyed the game from the balcony of the club house on Saturday.
Best and fairest points for the Inverell Hawks were awarded to Justin Caine (3), Jack Hukins (2) and James Ballinger (1).
