“There were about 200 people who showed up, which is a good turnout considering it was a very cold night.
“The crowd was made up of parents, friends and staff. It was great to see so many people coming out to support the creative arts at Moree Secondary College,” Creative and Performing Arts coordinator Dan Mani said.

Doors opened at 6pm and showcased a variety of creative works ranging from paintings to dance to theatre performances.
“Students developed their own performances such as monologues, poetry and duo-logues. “Possum Magic” and “Piranas don’t eat Bananas” were a couple of popular children’s stories that were adapted into short plays,” Mr Mani said.
The night was also a chance for graduating students to showcase their Higher School Certificate pieces.
“It was really important for the drama students to perform their works in front of a crowd because one of the marking criteria in the HSC is related to audience engagement,” Mr Mani said.
Contemporary and modern dance pieces, a thrilling acrobatic performance from the “Acro Sisters”, and a musical performance from “School of Rock” helped to make for a crowd-pleasing night.
Mr Mani added nights like these fostered the growth of creativity in the students.
“As a creative person, I love having that outlet at the school and honing in on local community support. The Creative Arts allows students to express themselves. It provides an important avenue for them.”
