The Hike for Homeless Trivia is the first leg of the campaign in Moree, as the community joins rank to end homelessness.
“The whole event is about raising awareness and changing stigma around homelessness,” Kristy said.
Doors open at 6.30pm at the Moree Services Club on July 27.
Tables can include up to eight people with a $20 price tag attached to every participant. The money will also afford you nibbles on the night.
“Even if you don’t have eight people you can still make a team. We have placed people on other tables in the past, so there is that option,” Kristy said.
Local business and organisations have kindly donated to the awesome raffle and prize pool.
“We don’t want to tell anyone what prizes there are at this point. It’s good to keep it a secret,” Kristy said.
Kristy did reveal that a prize would also be awarded to the participant who was best dressed.
“This year, we thought it would add a nice, little kick to the night if we included a fancy dress code. We leave the meaning of that completely open to you.”
Tickets for the night are on sale now through Byamee. Anyone interested is encouraged to call (02) 6752 1550 as soon as possible.
“We we would prefer if you booked tickets well ahead of the event. In saying that, tickets will still be sold at the door on the night for any last minute walk-ins,” Kirsty said.
The Hike for Homeless will be the final leg in the Homelessness Prevention Week. It will take place on August 11.
