Moree trainer Peter Sinclair’s horse Track Flash will look to take home the coveted trophy at the race track on Saturday June 23. If the horse wins, the victory will not only add to the winning streak at Moree and Mallawa picnic races, but put Sinclair down in the books as the only trainer to have won the Golden Triangle twice.

For Talmoi Picnic Races president Justin Ramsay, preparations are already on track for a memorable race.
“The track is pretty dry and we’ve been watering it over the past week, so it has a slight bounce to it. It should be ready for the race day,” he said.
Gates will open at 11am to an expected crowd of 1,200 people. Food and drinks will be available at the bar facilities, though race-goers are also encouraged to bring along their own supplies.
“You can bring your own drinks, lunch or dinner and set up a picnic and watch the races go past,” Justin said.
Justin said the races couldn’t have been timed better and would be a chance for people to unwind in what might be an otherwise difficult time for many people.
“Especially at the moment with how dry things are around here. It would be great to just enjoy the company of others.”
The first race will kick off at 1pm, with a big screen TV set up to televise local and interstate races such as Tatt’s Tiara Day in Brisbane.
Kids will also get to have a go on a jumping castle or face-painting.
Three Legged Pig Dogs will perform the musical entertainment.
“The entertainment will go into the evening, well after the races. The bar will close at 9pm,” Justin said.
While the grandstand was still in the process of refurbishment, Justin said it would still be open to race-goers.
Tickets to the race can be bought at the Talmoi Picnic Races Facebook page and at Pitman and Deakin in Moree.
The live-stock dealer will also offer transportation to the race track at Garah for anyone willing to pay a transport fee.
Separate buses will run to the race track from Moree, Mungindi and Boomi.
For buses from Moree, departure time is 12pm in front of the Royal Hotel. Buses will return to Moree from Garah at 6pm and 9pm.
