“We are a Moree and Mungindi community-based not-for-profit organisation continuing to operate in this space,” she said.
“Any clients of the organisations that have decided to stop providing NDIS services are welcome to come to us.”

The NDIS provides support to hundreds of thousands of Australians living with disability, their families and carers. The service can range from individual and social and community packages or NDIS plan assistance, all in a bid to help clients live an ordinary life.
According to Ms Harrison, NDIS service provider Sunnyfield has decided to cease operations in Moree. It is believed Northcott will also pull back on NDIS services, but continue to deliver early childhood services.
Attempts were made to contact representatives from both organisations for comment, however the overtures were met with no response.
While the reasoning behind the organisations’ decision to bow out on crucial services in Moree is still unknown, Ms Harrison admitted the Commonwealth government’s NDIS implementation process had not been easy for service providers. She said there were many aspects of NDIS operations that were challenging to manage.
“What the public hears about the NDIS is only 10% of the reality. I certainly understand the challenges that services providers face managing the system: the amount of hours they put into its administration and transitioning people to the scheme is far more than the income generated.”
Ms Harrison said former employees of both organisations had approached her with concerns for the future of their clients. Though, the community could be rest assured that Moree Aged and Disability Services would not abandon them.
“We pride ourselves on our integrity and the quality of our services,” she said.
The organisation will continue to provide crucial services to local NDIS participants.
“Our NDIS registered services include group or individual, social and community access, assistance with household tasks, yard maintenance, linen service and personal care for general support,” Ms Harrison said.
Specialist services entail overnight respite in a two-bedroom purpose-built flat, Coordination of Supports, NDIS Plan Management and transport that includes excursions to other towns for movies, bowling and other fun activities.
