Old Macdonald’s Travelling Farm petting zoo was the highlight of the event, held on Thursday, June 14, drawing the children and the big kids at heart.
Children had the opportunity to feed and pat baby goats, llamas, lambs, chickens and ducks at the petting zoo.
There was also a jumping castle, face painting by Rose Sparkle Events and a reading corner run by Moree East.
Moree Lions Club provided a free barbecue, and various service providers set up information stalls.
The event aimed to promote Centacare New England North West and their Our Children, Our Choice program which involves legally-assisted, culturally-appropriate mediation for families.
“It’s all about dealing with the barriers people might face,” Centacare’s community development worker legally-assisted cultural mediation Meagan Price said.
Ms Price said she was pleased with the turn-out.
“We were pretty happy, we thought it was quite successful – we went through about 250 sausages,” she said.
