Currently residing in England, Jessica is pursuing her career as a dietitian, while still managing regular campervan stints sightseeing across Europe.

It’s a dream lifestyle and one she attributes to her high school years in Moree.

“As a senior, the teachers treated us with the respect of young adults and instilled in us the self assurance necessary to really embrace our future,” Jessica said.

“Our teachers were always looking to help those who wanted to further themselves, and personally the school inspired me to follow my career goals and provided me with the confidence to pave this path.”

After graduating in 2010 Jessica completed a four-year Bachelor of Nutrition and Dietetics (Honours) on the Gold Coast, before securing her first dietetic position in Far North Queensland.

Jessica will finish her overseas working holiday at the end of the year, and plans to return to Australia to embark on her next adventure, working with pregnant women, children and mothers – with women’s nutrition a cause close to her heart.

She has fond memories from her high school years in Moree, and admits Mr Fleming, her chemistry teacher, was one of her favourites.

“He was always looking for ways to make learning as interesting as possible, and was enthusiastic all the time,” Jessica said.

And if Jessica is anything to go by, Mr Fleming’s enthusiasm for life and learning clearly rubbed off.
