CEO Dominic Teakle said he was thrilled at the announcement.
“PCYC is humbled by this announcement, which is a tribute to the NSW Police Commissioner’s focus on Youth and Crime Prevention and the legacy born of a partnership between Police, Rotary and the community which began more than 80 years ago.”
He noted PCYC was unique among youth organisations for its partnership between the community and the NSW Police Force.

“PCYC represents a trusted institution that has a privileged place at the centre of most NSW communities, including Moree.
“It empowers young people and implements crime prevention, health, fitness and community programs and activities right around the state, reflecting the community we serve.”
The NSW Government has promised that close to $40 million will be delivered to PCYC in NSW. The money will be scattered over four years, which will not only afford the new centres but also improvements to its current sites.
The substantial $2 million reserved for Moree PCYC will be directed into a new multi-purpose sports hall. The facility will attempt to increase participation in a variety of activities and programs including basketball, archery, fustal, netball, indoor cricket and other group fitness activities.
It will also fund the opportunity to dedicate one hall for a full-time gymnastics program for which there is a great demand.
Mr Teakle said PCYC was at the heart of the community and hosted educational, character-building and physically active youth programs and diversion projects that give young people purpose, focus and mentorship to make positive life choices.
“This investment by the NSW Government will help strengthen the relationships we facilitate between young people and police officers. The $40 million boost to PCYC ensures youth and the community have modern and safe facilities to participate in a range of sporting and recreational activities.”
