This will be the third of five gala days being held for juniors throughout the North West this season.
The day, to be held at Taylor Oval from 10am, is open to all boys and girls aged 10 to 17 and aims to give youths an opportunity to try AFL in a fun, non-competitive environment.
Young people from Tamworth, Armidale, Inverell and potentially Gunnedah and Narrabri will be attending the gala day which will be coordinated by North West AFL junior coordinator Neil Dunn.
Regional team coaches will also be on hand to help develop the skills of new and existing players in the lead up to the junior representative game on the June long weekend. The day will also be used to finalise selections for the youth squads for these games.

Moree Suns president Shane Hadley said children playing any other code of football, or any other sports, are welcome to come along without any need for signing up or expectation that they will continue to play.
“Everyone is welcome and no experience in AFL, or any sport is required,” he said.
“League, union and oz-tag players can come test their skills, cricketers and netballers can challenge themselves in a different way, and anyone who hasn’t played or tried sports before can come along and give it a go in a fun, friendly and relaxed environment,” he said.
There will be under 17s boys, under 14s mixed (aged 10 to 13) and youth girls (aged 13 to 18) games played on on the day.
The club also hopes to have an Auskick representative for children under 10 to be able to have a go during the breaks.
Spectators are welcome, and along with a full canteen, there will be fruit break provided, as well as free tea and coffee for parents.
No special equipment or clothing/footwear is required to attend.
If children do enjoy the taster and wish to continue to play, the Moree Suns AFL club and AFL North West take registrations all season. There are five regular round junior games that will also be held after the gala day, both at home and away. Further information and registration forms will be available on the day.
