Six-year-old gelding Track Flash, owned by a Moree syndicate and ridden by jockey Ricky Blewitt, continued its winning form on Saturday, taking out the Moree Picnic Cup by more than a length ahead of Mysticism, trained by Garah’s Campbell Roberts.
Sinclair’s son, fellow Moree trainer, Nathan Sinclair also had success in the feature race with nine-year-old gelding Deceitful Don, which he also owns with M Sampson, finishing third. Nathan also placed third in race one with Grubba’s Last, which finished three lengths behind Buyer’s Remorse, trained by Inverell’s Wayne Oakenfull.

Capping off a day of thirds for the Sinclair junior, Our Danny Boy finished in third place in race five, once again behind his father Peter who won with I Am Dynamic.
Peter Sinclair also had wins in race three and race two.
Race three saw locally-owned California Raider beat Bulbadah by just under half a length, followed by Sinclair’s other entry, Divine Brown, while Marine Corps took out race two.
He also placed fourth in the Cup with five-year-old mare Real Blonde.
The Sinclairs may have dominated the racing on track, but off-track it was the fashions which stole the spotlight during the Moree Picnics – the first leg of the 2018 Golden Triangle Bush Races.
The popular Fashions on the Field competition was once again hotly contested as some of the best dressed fashionistas emanated elegance and style.
Moree Picnic Races president Sally Glynn said it was a very successful day with about 1,200 people going through the gates and appoximately 450 people staying on to party the night away at the Marquee Dinner Dance.
“It was really good considering there were a fair few events on locally that were out of our control,” she said.
“All-in-all I would say numbers were up on last year.”
The perfect autumn weather helped to draw the crowd, as did the evening’s entertainment featuring The Voice semi-finalist Rennie Adams.
“There was not a time when the dancefloor was not completely full,” Ms Glynn said.
“He certainly entertained the crowd with one excellent song after another.”
The event also included a marquee luncheon and calcutta. The next event Golden Triangle event will be the Mallawa Picnic Races on Saturday, June 9, followed by the Talmoi Picnics at Garah on June 23.
