Moree Suns men may have had the bye, but the women and juniors still pulled on the football boots and travelled to Narrabri on Saturday to take on the New England Nomads.

The juniors came out on top and defeated the Nomads 13.18-96 to 6.7-43, while the women weren’t so lucky, going down 19.15-129 to 2.1-13.
The Junior Suns got off to a strong start, running away with a 42-point lead at half time (9.10-64 to 2.3-22).
The Nomads, led by captain Morgan Dunn, attempted to reel in the deficit, pegging the Moree Suns down to a 1.5-11 third quarter. However despite their efforts the Suns came off winners.

Meanwhile the women welcomed two debutantes to the side.
Whilst the Suns women managed to keep it close in their previous encounter, it was a vastly improved Nomads team which took to the field in Narrabri.
Despite the loss, the Suns shone in a final quarter performance, holding the Nomads 26-point quarter.
