Although this year’s Anzac Day fell mid-week, large crowds were out honouring the brave men and women who have served our country.
For those returning to work or going about their daily business today, April 26, remember after a big night out you may still have alcohol in your system the next day.
Both marked and unmarked police cars will be out in force patrolling all major roads and back streets - so don't take the risk because you will get caught.
Traffic and Highway Patrol Commander, Assistant Commissioner Michael Corboy said, there is no place for drink or drug driving on our roads.
“Driving with alcohol or drugs in your system is dangerous to yourself and other road users and puts the lives of all road users at ris.
"With school holidays continuing, everyone needs to take responsibility for road safety.
“It’s about you as a driver – don’t get behind the wheel of a car and drive. Leave the car at home and use public transport,” Assistant Commissioner Corboy said.
