At around 6.15am a cloud formation in the south west replicated that of a rising sun badge on a digger’s slouch hat.
Dawn Service attendees couldn’t help but capture their own unique images of the view, sharing them to social media.
New South Wales Senator John Williams even posted his snap of the cloud formation over the RSM Club on Evans Street.
He described this morning’s view as simply “amazing”.
Inverell Times journalist Laini Kirkman also captured her own version of the formation, later posting it to Facebook.
A reader of the Times, Kylie Grainger then shared the image, saying “what a beautiful tribute by Mother Nature to those who have fallen and to the men and women still protecting us”.
