“I would’ve been disappointed if we didn’t beat Quirindi. The team was struggling,” coach Peter Copeman said.
Copeman explained the Quirindi team were short of players on the bench, which made them an easier target for the full squad of Bulls players.
“Quirindi played really well given their situation, but they were lacking depth on the day.”
Standout performances came from Jordan Cosh, Jaime Sampson and Ben Williams, with star plays shown across the team.
“Our attack was excellent and there was great ball control shown from the team. We also successfully tried out a few sets,” Copeman said.
While the knockout performance led to a 90-17victory, Copeman said the game exposed many weaknesses within the team.
“Our defence wasn’t as good as it could have been. I’ll definitely be getting the boys to work on it more.”
The victory brings the Bull’s win count to two, and loss to one. They currently sit on the fourth rung of the ladder.
“The goal is always to try and win the grand final. It doesn’t always happen, but you’ve got to aim high. You always try and go one or two better every year,” Copeman said.
The Weebolla Bulls will have a bye this weekend.
