With less than two weeks to go until the gates to Moree Showground open for the 2018 Moree Show, organisers are busy finalising details to make this year’s show one of the best yet.
A jam-packed program of events throughout Friday, April 27 and Saturday, April 28 promises fun for the whole family.
All the action will kick-off on Friday, April 27 with showjumping and horse events in the ring from 7am.
At 9am the pavilions will open until 6pm.
The Dock Dogs Big Air Wave shows one, two and three will get underway at 10.30am, 12.30pm and 1.30pm near the southern entrance.
From 2pm to 4pm will be horse sporting events in the campdraft arena, followed by the Dock Dogs Extreme Vertical Finals at 3.30pm.
Then, get ready to witness all the thrills and spills of the Gill Bros Rodeo which begins at 6.30pm in the main ring. Gates open at 5pm.
On Saturday, April 28, the day will again get underway with horse events from 7am. Pavilions will open at 9am.
At 8.30am the yard dog trials will take place in the yard dog arena, followed by the Pet Show at 9.15am to 10am in the rotunda.
The Dock Dogs Big Air Wave four will take place at 10.30am near the southern entrance, followed by Scoot the Stunt juggler at 11am.
Junior Showgirl entries will be taken at the secretary’s office at 11.30am.
The popular woodchop will get underway at 12pm between the pavilions.
At 12.30pm, the Dock Dogs Speed Retrieve Finals will get underway, followed by another show by Scoot the Stunt Juggler at 1pm and Dock Dogs Big Air Wave five at 1.30pm.
Everyone should then make their way to the grandstand at 2.30pm for the official ceremony which will begin at 2.40pm, and include the announcement of the 2018 Moree Showgirl, followed by the grand parade at 3pm.
At 3.30pm there’ll be the six bar jump-off in the ring and whipcracking at the grandstand.
The first Aussie FMX show will take place at 3.15pm in the ring.
At 3.30pm the Dock Dog Air Finals will take place, followed by Scoot the Stunt Juggler at 4pm in front of the grandstand.
Dog High Jump will be at 5pm, followed by another Aussie FMX show.
The Battle of the Aggies Tug of War Challenge will be at 6.30pm, followed by the Farmer’s Challenge at 7pm and fireworks at 7.15pm.
Ute barrell races will then be at 7.30pm followed by the popular Demolition Derby from 8pm.
Finally, on Sunday, April 29, the yard dog trials will take place from 7.30am.
