Local phlebotomist, or blood collector, Bianca Mills, has lived in and around Moree for the better part of her life and has spent the last six years studying and working in the health sector.

Ms Mills, who works at the newly opened Laverty Pathology in Moree, said the work she does each day helps to make a difference to the health of the people around her and the community as a whole.
“When I finish a day at work, I know I have truly done something meaningful and important that has directly impacted on my patients in a positive way.
“That is why I enjoy working in this field and in this community.”
Laverty Pathology has been operating at the Pius X Medical Centre in Moree since early February 2018.
Beau Davis, the Laverty area manager for New England said: “We were approached by the Pius X Medical Centre to help support the surgery in increasing its ability to meet the needs of their patients and staff by providing an onsite pathology service.
“At present, we offer an onsite phlebotomist who can assist in the collection of a large range of pathology samples, with a view to offering 24-hour blood pressure monitoring, holter monitoring and AS4308 drug screening in the near future.”
Mr Davis said Laverty Pathology is a comprehensive medical laboratory and pathology practice with laboratory and patient pathology collection centre locations throughout NSW and ACT.

Laverty accepts all request forms from all providers and where possible, bulk bills all eligible tests to Medicare.
