The Lagnacourt Pastoral Co. manager and stay-at-home mum have little dance experience between them, with Donny claiming he’s only a good dancer at 3am on Saturday nights.
Meanwhile, Amanda, as a young Michigan girl, dreamt of the chance of being in Dancing with the Stars. Now, 25 years later she is fulfilling her dream in Moree.
Donny and Amanda received three dance lessons in Melbourne in January which they’ve built their routine around.
“From that we’ve built a bit of a plan and that’s what we’re running with,” Donny said.
“We’ve bastardised things a bit. [The teacher] only gave us an outline.
“We’ll see how it goes.”
Donny said they were on track a few weeks ago, but that “things have gotten worse” during their last rehearsal.
“Three weeks ago it felt good, last week it was okay and today [Tuesday], not so great,” he said.
Donny and Amanda will be performing “some form of tango” on Saturday night.
