Moree Plains Gallery’s summer sessions began on Tuesday, January 23 and will run Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday for the next two weeks.
Three artmaking sessions are on offer each day, including classes to make printed bags, paint pots and create feather mobiles.
Moree Plains Gallery’s education officer Caitlyn Boland said the workshops all have a summer theme.
The first classes were held on Tuesday with more than a handful of children attending each class.
“This morning we had printed bags, where we printed a calico bag using screen printing techniques and stencilling,” Ms Boyd said.
“This class is painted pots – we’ve got terracotta pots and we’re painting them with acrylic paints and then potting them with flowers.
“We’re then making fake stained glass window feathers for a mobile this afternoon.”
There are still spaces open for the remaining classes.
The printed bags classes will be running on Wednesday, January 24 and 31 from 11am to 12.30pm, Thursday, January 25 and February 1 from 1.30pm to 3pm, and Tuesday, January 30 from 9am to 10.30am.
The painted pots workshops will be running on Wednesday, January 24 and 31 from 1.30am to 3pm, Thursday, January 25 and February 1 from 9am to 10.30am, and Tuesday, January 30 from 11am to 12.30pm.
Finally, the feather mobiles session will be running on Wednesday, January 24 and 31 from 9am to 10.30am, Thursday, January 25 and February 1 from 11am to 12.30pm and Tuesday, January 30 from 1.30pm to 3pm.
Each class is $20 which includes the materials, allowing children to take home their creation.
