Moree Lions Club president Barrie Brooks said Cook will be an excellent ambassador for Moree.
“I think she’ll be quite good,” he said.
“A lot of people having been saying ‘I remember her, she was the vet in A Country Practice’; a lot of people can relate to her.”
Having graduated from the National Institute of Dramatic Art (NIDA) in 1989, Cook mader her television break in The Restless Years.
Since then her career has seen her appear in a long and distinguished list of some of Australia’s most successful television programs, as well as be involved in several films and nearly 40 theatrical productions.

The event will kick off at 8am with a free barbecue breakfast.
The festivities will continue with a Welcome to Country, Citizenship Ceremony and presentation of Australia Day Awards from 9am.
