This year’s meeting is set to be one of the best, with some 70 nominations for the six-race program.
Local trainer Peter Sinclair has five horses in the mix.
Four-year-old mare Safe Harbour will be one to watch, coming off the back of a recent impressive performance in Goondiwindi.
Sinclair’s Dungiven, I Am Dynamic, California Raider and Where’s Emma have also been nominated to run on the day.
His son, Nathan, also has hopes to win on Saturday with Gilded Spirit, Cool Stinger and Going Grey all nominated.
Gates will open from 1pm with the first race set to jump at 2pm.
Moree Race Club secretary Michelle Gobbert said the committee was pleased with nomination numbers for the twilight event.
Keen punters will be able to watch the high calibre of racing track side while still enjoying the shade of marquees and two special, exclusive areas.
Tickets for The Party House and an On the Rails bar and marquee went on sale late last month. Both have been incredibly popular and are still available for purchase online at www.moreeraceclub.com.au.
This year’s Fashions on the Field, sponsored by Bella Sante, will include $2500 worth of prizes running between 3-5pm.
”There are five categories: best dressed couple, best dressed gentleman, best dressed lady, best dressed young lady and best hat/fascinator,” Gobbert said.
From 6pm a live band, Grayson, will entertain race-goers well into the evening.
Courtesy buses will be running to and from the course from 1pm. Pick-up locations are at Gwydir Caravan Park, Dragon and Phoenix Motel, Albert Motel, Golf Club, Royal Hotel and Post Office Hotel.
There will be plenty of parking space.
