The year 12 hospitality students spent two days baking cookies, brownies and rasberry slice before they hand-delivered the delicious goodies to all Fairview residents on Wednesday, December 6.
All students in the school also created Christmas cards, which were given to the residents along with their special morning tea which included fruit donated by Woolworths.
This is the first time the students have done something like this for Fairview residents, however it was such a hit that they’ve been asked to do it twice a year.
The students said it was a rewarding experience to see the smiles on the residents faces when they received their gifts.
Taylor Woodgate completed work experience at Fairview earlier in the year and was instrumental in leading the project.
“It makes you feel nice, like you’re bringing happiness to the elderly,” she said.
“It’s just to give back to the community.”
