Teams from Gunnedah, Inverell, Tamworth and Moree entered the competition to test every aspect of their fitness.
The first workout of the day (WOD) was the same for the scaled (beginner, intermediate) and RX (elite athlete) teams, except for the time difference.
Competitors headed out for their 1.3km run before returning and in pairs completing 100 plated ground to overheads, 200 squats and 300 ab mat sit ups.
The second WOD consisted of female pairs working to complete nine burpees over the bar, six dead lifts and three power cleans, adding five kilograms after each round for eight minutes.
After the eight minutes the male pairs in each team were tagging in to complete the same WOD, but increasing 10 kilograms after each round.
The day’s third and final WOD was a tough one, in both the scaled and RX division.
RX teams had to complete 30 chest to bars, 15 squat snatches, 50 double unders, 24 chest to bars, 12 squat snatches, 50 double unders, then 20 chest to bars, 10 squat snatches and 50 double unders.
Scaled teams completed 30 knee raises, 30 hang power cleans, 100 skips, 20 knee raises, 20 hang power cleans, 100 skips and 10 knee raises, 10 hang power cleans and 100 skips.
Out of 80 competitors from around the north west, the three workouts tested every single athlete to find the fittest teams in the region.
Winners in the scaled division were from Gunnedah Crossfit Noodles with the Lot, in second place a Tamworth team from Snake Crossfit Just a Bunch of Snakes and in third places was The DAAC Side from GTK Crossfit Moree.
Moree’s GTK Crossfit won the RX division, followed by SnakeFit from Tamworth and in third place were The Four Skins from Road 2 Victory Crossfit in Inverell.
GTK Crossfit owner Heidi Dell thanked all who came, competed, spectated, sponsored and gave a helping hand.
“It was such an amazing day. I am so overwhelmed with the loving, supportive community that comes with Crossfit,” she said.
