Trains have been replaced by coaches since Friday 20 October while NSW TrainLink worked with the track owner – the Australian Rail Track Corporation (ARTC) – to resolve the problem.
NSW TrainLink Chief Operating Officer Pete Allaway thanked customers for their patience during the disruption.
“NSW TrainLink thanks our customers and communities for bearing with us while coaches have replaced trains over the last three weeks,” Mr Allaway said.
“Safety is our highest priority and we have worked as quickly as possible with ARTC to get services back on track.
“We apologise for the inconvenience caused by the change to normal services and we only expect minor delays to the timetable as services resume this week.”
The first train to operate on the line is between Werris Creek and Moree, due to arrive at 6pm, with full services in both directions resuming on Tuesday, November 14.
Coaches will replace trains between Sydney and Moree from November 20 and 23 inclusive, as part of ARTC’s scheduled trackwork, which is unrelated to the recent suspension of passenger train services.
