A presentation was held at Katherine Police Station recently to recognise her contribution to her workplace for the Northern Territory Police Force.
Her parents Mary and Brian Mather, of Garah, were extremely proud.
“Melissa was born and grew up here. She actually worked a lot in Moree but she has been in the NT on and off now for around 14 years,” Mrs Mather said.
Mrs Bridgeman has been a member of the force since 2010 and has served with the Territory Communications Section as well as Katherine Police Station.
“Her husband is originally from Canada but he is in the police force, as well as her brother Jack Mather.”
She was described as being actively involved and dedicated to her work, complementing the mission and visionary of the agency.
“Auxiliary Bridgeman continually strives to enhance the work environment for her peers and colleagues. She has proven time and again that she is a passionate advocate for her peers and is willing to go the extra mile to assist them in any way she can,” Commissioner of Police and CEO Fire and Emergency Services Reece Kershaw said.
