The exhibition features over 100 photographs from local residents and amateur photographers which were entered into the My Moree photography competition on Facebook and showcases what is great about Moree Plains – the people, the place, and the life.
The My Moree team have been thrilled with the response to the competition.
“We were seriously overwhelmed with the number of the entries we received on Facebook and would like to thank the community for this wonderful show of support,” Moree Plains Shire Council’s Economic Development Officer Susannah Pearse said.
“The judges deliberated for quite some time over the 437 entries before deciding upon which photographs to include in the display and which to shortlist for prizes.
“Photographs were judged on their creativity as well as their popularity on Facebook.”
Shortlisted photos will be in the running for prizes in four categories – People, Place, Plains Life and the highly coveted Grand Jury Prize, with the winners to be announced at a Gala Presentation this Friday.
The general public can also have their say as to which photo best represents what My Moree means to them by attending the exhibition and submitting their vote for the People’s Choice prize.
Winners will receive a $500 voucher to spend on photography equipment at Harvey Norman Moree, with the Grand Jury winner also benefiting from the Ultimate My Moree Day package.
The exhibition can be viewed at the Moree Plains Gallery from Monday to Friday between 10am-5pm, and Saturdays 10am-1pm until the Saturday, October 14 2017.
