The CWA of NSW has more than 7000 members and will be holding their next annual State Conference at the New England Girls’ School in May.
Leonie Hawkins, of Guyra CWA, said approximately 1000 members from around the state will converge on Armidale for the week-long conference.
The Committee, which is made up of CWA members from the Northern Tablelands Group of CWA, have been planning the event for the past few months with the support of the Armidale Regional Council and the Armidale Visitor’s Centre.
Ms Hawkins said members will also engage in a great deal of retail therapy and eating out while in town. “Business in the area should benefit well from the influx of members and guests,” she said.
The Conference provides a forum where branches can discuss and set policy directions, receive the various reports of the year’s activities and elect the team who will lead the Association for the next 12 months.
