Just one week into the reality television weight loss show, Anna was the third contestant eliminated from the competition, having been voted out by her fellow blue team members after they lost a challenge.

“I was devastated, I was so devastated,” Anna said.

“Being the heaviest girl in the competition, I felt like I had a lot of emotional stuff to work out as well as weight loss. I wasn’t ready to go.”

While her early elimination was a massive blow, Anna has not let that stop her from achieving her goals of being healthy, fit and well.

In fact, it has spurred her on even more.

“When I left I was in shock, but then my mindset went to, ‘I can do this’,” she said. 

“I’ve never felt more determined in my life. It was a big driver.

“Like I’ve said to Shannan, I committed to this 100 per cent and I will not falter.”

Anna said while her time in the Biggest Loser house was short, it was a massive learning curve.

“For the time I was in there I learnt so much about myself and so much from Shannan,” she said.

“I went into this wanting to learn; I’ve just been a sponge soaking up information from every specialist, chef, cook, everyone that’s crossed my path so far, I’ve just listened to everything. There’s so much to learn.”

Some of the biggest things Anna has learnt is combining walking with her training which she now incorporates into her fitness regime back in Moree, as well as being organised and prepared with her food.

After first leaving the Biggest Loser house, Anna decided to take some time out before returning to Moree and spent a few weeks with her mum in Geelong.

“My mum is a great role model for me; she’s an incredible woman - she practices pilates daily, she’s a health guru and lives a very balanced life,” Anna said.

“It was really good; I focussed on Anna.”

Since returning to Moree, Anna has been as determined as ever and is focussed on looking and feeling her absolute best for the grand finale reveal in May.

Still technically part of the competition until the finale, Anna has been training morning and afternoon and making use of some of Moree’s excellent facilities including Moree Artesian Aquatic Centre, the PCYC and Moree Boxing Academy – her “haunts”.

She has also received some amazing support from her friends and family, as well as the wider Moree community.

“Belinda Shervey has been my biggest support, she trains with me every day,” Anna said. 

“And I’ve had the privilege of training with Eric Dumas [Moree power lifter] … so I’ve got two super fit friends.”

One person in particular who has stood behind Anna every step of the way is her husband Rob, who has lost a few kilos himself since Anna has returned home and introduced a healthier diet.

“It’s the first time in my life I’m lighter than my husband,” Anna said.

“It’s been a big mindset thing for me. It’s a big adjustment, something we’ve been working on together.

“He’s very happy for me. He’s been so supportive.”

Anna is now feeling the best she’s ever been and hopes to be an inspiration for the people of Moree.

“I feel amazing. It’s the fittest, healthiest I’ve been and I have such a clear mindset,” she said.

“I feel really fit. I can’t wait to share my lessons and my journey.”

She also can’t wait for the finale to reveal just how much weight she has lost and catch-up with the other contestants, with whom she’s formed great friendships.

“I’ve never been a person to give up. I was devastated [to be eliminated], but it made me more determined,” she said.

“There’s more to come, you haven’t seen the last of Anna.
